MALLoC
Anyone who knows me for long enough has been on the receiving end of a Logan Rant. Many things both interest and annoy me. I'm constantly in awe of everything, including how bad things can be sometimes. Because I like to generally project positivity (well, try) I am quarantining here a series of unrelated complaints that aren't long enough to justify a post/page of their own. Sorry, and please do enjoy.

- The global "no AI please" switch lasted for a single OS version (26) for a single year. Then it was gone, and my device was suddenly generating nonsense replies (that sound nothing like me) and summaries (of dumbass group texts with friends) after I explicitly opted out of all such trash. Then it was gone (macOS, that is). The push was finally hard enough to get me to commit to Asahi Linux and KDE, and wow, both have come such a long way since the last time I used them! I am delighted. My aging Air-variant laptop's battery life has the capability to last all day again, and my computer no longer feels sluggish. I still have vendor lock-in for photography (because it takes a giant company to have support of esoteric RAW files and support a photo organizer with powerful non-destructive editing) but hopefully the future will prove brighter in that regard.
