About this site
This has been my corner of the web to play around with some real, modern, production-ready web techniques, but also learn some of the things that have existed forever and clever ways to use them. As is the beauty of it, many of these ideas have come from others, and I want to acknowledge things as I have found them. Good things are built slowly, over time, with input from many different people.
- Invaluable teachings from the everwise weblover Darien Maillet Valentine. He taught me an appreciation for the web, its practicalities, and the smart, caring people behind each and every one of them. I've been fortunate to work alongside Darien for years now, and that has taught me more than any amount of school or other work experience.
- Time spent working on Knudge. I've gotten so many opportunities to work with incredibly smart people; so many, also, to tackle problems I never otherwise would have had the opportunity to approach on my own. I've learned firsthand so many things about data(base) design through working with MongoDB, so much about running a production website, and seen so many ageless CS techniques come back as ever-necessary solutions to problems that never go away — we still need mutexes!
